Hyrax is a natural science blogazine for the hip knowledge hungry crowd. Our intent was to aggregate content that draws science fans together where they can nerd out on the awesome, strange and amusing. Inspired by a growing trend of cool science, our target audience are fans of science stars such as Bill Nye, Carl Sagan and David Attenborough and appreciate the irreverent hipness of facebook’s “I fucking love science”.
To appeal to our younger and educated audience the site was executed with a contemporary and clean aesthetic with beautiful photography and animated GIF’s integrated throughout. We used WordPress as our CMS and a Foundation based framework to create a fully responsive custom theme.
