The Inferno

A man’s journey through Hell. This is my redesign of Dante Alighieri’s The Inferno, first published in the early 1300’s. I decided to give a modern take on this medieval classic. I used Mission Gothic, a modern san-serif type for the body, with plenty of white space. The digital illustrations are kept clean and simple but break their container for an element of chaos. This book was created from a basic text file to a fully printed, bound and covered project in just nine weeks. The final product includes ten illustrations in 358 pages (including 100 pages of end notes) and is hand sewn, as well as hand bound.
